An Introduction to the Russian Revolution

We will examine the last Tsar's rule, the revolution of 1917 & the struggle to establish the Soviet Union in the midst of civil war. We will discuss Stalin's hold on power for nearly 30 years, & contrast this with the later period of the USSR.

This dayclass investigates American soldiers, sailors and flyboys in S.Wales in WWII, just how did the 'yanks' get on with the 'locals' back in the war? We will explore the whole range of relationships that were created by the presence of several thousand American men in this part of the world.

Titian

Titian was the greateat painter in the Venetian Renaissance. He mastered life-like appearances & realised the expressive potential of oil painting. This course includes a viewing of a Titian masterpiece, Diane & Actaeon, on loan to the Museum.
