7 December 2011: Ceri Lane lectures at Insole Court
This Wednesday Ceri Lane gave a talk to the Friends of Insole Court on the subject of a Victorian Christmas, explaining the origins of some of are most famous traditions such as christmas crackers, christmas carols and the true story behind Dicken's famous tale 'A Christmas Carol'.

20 August 2011: South Wales Echo. Museum's Learning Partnership
A UNIQUE education provider has teamed up with the National Museum of Wales to bring more innovative courses to Cardiff city centre. The Celtic Learners Network (CLN) will deliver an autumn programme from the new art education room in the museum's refurbished west wing. Subjects include Leonardo da Vinci Leonardo da Vinci, Sketching at the Museum and an introduction to some of the key themes in contemporary art, relating to surrounding galleries. The CLN is also expanding its range of venues to suit those who work during week days, with Cathays High School and Barry College used after hours. Autumn 2011: Partnerships!
The Celtic Learners Network has just come to the end of a very successful summer programme of lectures designed in partnership with Cadw, taking place at historic sites such as Tintern Abbey, Chepstow Castle and Caerwent. For the autumn, we are going into partnership with National Museum Cardiff, where our art classes will now be taking place in the brand new art education room in the refurbished west wing. For further news on partnerships that may be coming in the future, watch this space!
7th June 2011: Coryton Ladies. Ceri Lane gave an evening lecture on 'Bedlam: Murder and Madness'
Ceri Lane gave a special hour lecture on 'Bedlam: Murder and Madness' to the Coryton Ladies this Tuesday. Subjects included the history of the now infamous hospital, its famous inmates, and the terrible treatments inflicted upon the patients. Gruesome stuff!
15th May 2011: Adult Learners Week
As part of Adult Learners Week this year the CLN provided free sessions at the Cadw sites Caerphilly Castle and Tintern Abbey. Sessions included drawing, creative writing, as well as historical subjects such as Medieval food, Manuscripts and the life of a Medieval Monk!
Feedback from the Cadw events team: ''the visitors certainly enjoyed hearing about life in a monastry but perhaps not quite as much as they enjoyed the cheese and pottage! You all certainly made a huge contribution to the day and I look forward to meeting you all again in the future.''

April 2011: CLN Partnership with Cadw!

Jan 2011: W.E.A. Ceri Lane is guest lecturing on 'The Continental Celts'
This term our very own Ceri Lane is guest lecturing for the Workers Education Association, in Barry, taking a 10 week course on the Celts in Europe. She has lectured extensively for the W.E.A. before, covering subjects such as the Celts in Rome and Celtic Mythology.
LAST TERM: Alt Cardiff. The real Jason and the Argonauts
New research has allowed Ceri Lane to conduct a course which bridges the gap between Greek storytelling, and the physical evidence of Jason and the Argonauts. Ceri Lane, who was inspired from the vampire genre, and passionate about Greek heroes, states that Greek story telling has inspired a passion for seeking the truth, and as a result of modern research and archaeology, a physical representation of the Jason and the Argonauts history is now possible. She states, 'The course appeals to a broad range of ages...

''SERIAL killers, Victorian fairy tales and the ethics of genetically-modified food are some of the courses available at the Celtic Learners Network. The adult learning provider has released its latest installment of weird and wonderful subjects, due for delivery next spring. Highlights include an investigation into the minds of the world's most notorious serial killers, to more traditional favourites like Norse mythology and renaissance portraiture.
The CLN is also expanding its range of venues to allow better access to classes. The majority of courses will take place at St David's Hall in Cardiff, but there are also classes taking place in Chapter Arts and the city's Arts Institute. In the Vale of Glamorgan, learners will meet in Barry Library and a new venue in Llantwit Major for a lively debate on the Celts in Welsh culture.''

Cardiff Connect would like to introduce you to the Celtic Learners Network. CLN provides Humanities courses for adult learners throughout Cardiff and the Vale. The Celtic Learners Network are expanding their range of venues and are heading to the Chapter Arts Centre to offer more variety and flexibilty to adult learners in Cardiff. Having launched this August at the Cardiff Arts Institute, the CLN wish to embrace a wider demographic and believe that Chapter answers their need for a vibrant evening location for their alternative and innovative subjects. Sleeveface competition, judged by The Celtic Learners Network. We want you to create your own Sleevefaces. Props and outfits are actively encouraged, the more experimental the better. The prize is a Sleeveface workshop by The Celtic Learners Network at the Cardiff Arts Institute, which will be occurring on Saturday 16th October from 10:30am until 12:30pm. A range of new courses will be on offer from September by a new adult learners network launching tomorrow. How to obscure one's face with a record sleeve to cause an amusing illusion will now be offered as an adult learners course as part of a new programme launching tomorrow.
The Celtic Learners Network will offer a range of courses in humanities from Sleeveface to vampires at Cardiff Arts Institute hoping to be to set apart from other adult learners providers.
Founded by partners and Cardiff University graduates Kishli Laister-Scott, Ceri Lane and Colette Maxfield in April, the organisation aims to catch new learners looking for courses to start this September and also offers traditional course in modern art and history as well as less conventional options...
